There are a few important factors to consider when choosing drinks for your wedding day. Pay attention to these and you’re sure to impress your guests.

What’s in season?

What's in season?

When it comes to choosing the perfect ingredients for your drinks the best approach is to think seasonally. Elderflower, lavender and a multitude of delicious berries might be closer than you think. Blackberries are everywhere right now and make a great cocktail ingredient.
Here’s a recipe for a delicious cocktail with blackberries that can be easily made at home. Forage around for some local fruit and give it a try…

The drink is traditionally made with Crème de mûre: a French blackberry liqueur, but this can be swapped out for fresh blackberries for a delicious result. Start by muddling blackberries in the bottom of a glass. Add the lemon juice, sugar syrup and gin. Give it a good stir, top it all up with crushed ice and garnish with a lemon wedge or blackberries.

What are your favourite flavours?

What flavours stand out for you? Do raspberries and passion fruit tantalize your taste buds or are you a coffee lover or a chocoholic? The drinks on your menu must reflect your flavour passions, they’re there for you to enjoy as well as your guests.

Focusing on your favourite flavours and paying attention to what’s in season is important in creating a great cocktail menu but drinks can also be designed with more aesthetic priorities…

What is the colour theme of your wedding?

The colour scheme of your wedding can play a hand in the design of your cocktail menu. Pinks and blues can be replicated with raspberries and lavender and even silvers and golds aren’t unachievable.

What's the theme of your wedding?

Consistent themes are common focuses when planning your big day. Suits, dresses, food and decor are all chosen with a consistent theme in mind and your drinks should be no exception. Follow these little tips to achieve cocktail perfection on your big day.
