Top Five Tips for Getting the Most out of the Wedding Fair by The Wedding Dolls
We’re big wedding fair fans. They are simply worth their weight in gold. Research, research, research is our wedding planning mantra and where better to go than a room full of wedding fanatics to find out everything you need to know and then some. We know they’re sometimes slightly overwhelming so here’s our top five tips for skipping joyfully around the fair and ending up with a heart full of wedding happiness.
1. Talk Smart
Take the time to have a chat with suppliers about the services they offer. All suppliers who come to a wedding fair want to meet couples and talk weddings – after all that’s why they’re here! You’ll get far more information from picking suppliers brains than you ever will reading their leaflet when you get home. Ask as many questions as you possibly can – we don’t bite – promise.
2. Get Organised
If you are still looking for certain suppliers head that way first. That way you’ll spend time on what’s important to you rather than getting sidetracked by all the other wedding pretty that will be on offer!
3. Catwalk Comfort
Plan to take a breather at the catwalk show. Get to the stage early with a drink in hand and relax whilst you’re waiting for the show to start. It will give you time to mull over everything you’ve seen so far and plan where you need to go next. Oh and your feet will thank you.
4. Let’s face the music
Never do you get the chance to hear and see so many bands perform in one place (unless your budget runs to Glastonbury acts). If you’re still deciding on musical choices then the entertainment stage is the place to go. You’ll get to hear the bands live (many of whom only ever play at weddings) and chat to them after. Worth the fair ticket price alone in our book.
5. Try Before You Buy
Take as many samples on offer as nothing beats having a little taste test with cake makers, sweet carts, caterers and bar staff.
And finally if you think you’ve seen everything there then check again. We bet you haven’t. Do a double back through the fair to make sure and use this last little go around to speak to as many suppliers as you can. Don’t forget to glean all that FREE advice from us before you leave!
Most of all have fun and happy planning!
