Wedding Stationery Trends
Wedding Stationers Blush And Gold run us through the biggest trends for 2016 and beyond
When it comes to wedding invitations, no two are the same and as we are approaching the opening of The Wedding Fair many of you would have already had a chance to research some of the various options available. There’s plenty of choice out there to suit most tastes and if that’s not enough, most wedding stationers will also offer a bespoke service really tailored to both your personalities and interests.
As a wedding stationer, I understand the importance of getting the look and feel of your invites just right; after all, your stationery can play a big role in narrating your wedding day. Save the Date cards and Invitations are a lovely way of creating anticipation and setting the atmosphere for your day.
As part of my job, it’s really important that I keep up to date with future wedding trends and I want to share some of the best with you in this blog post. Some are new trends for 2016/7 and some are trends that have been popular in the past, but all seem to be still very much loved by brides and grooms.
Here are my top 6 trends for 2016 / 17…
1. Gold accents
Everyone loves a bit of sparkle. A few touches of gold will add a classy feel to your wedding stationery. Accents of gold can also be used to complement most stationary and hand illustrated design can beautifully frame the body of an invite. All of our gold elements are digitally printed to resemble real gold foiling, but without the hefty price tag!
Monograms are another fantastic way to add your own “brand” to pretty much anything at your wedding. Elegant monograms included on stationery items will add an extra personal element and it’s so versatile that it can also applied to pretty much anything to do with your wedding: Napkins, cake toppers, wedding favours, cuff link or ring bearer pillows are just a few ideas that work well at any wedding.
The back-to-nature trend is still going strong and looks set to be one of the most loved stationary trends of this year, and beyond. Wedding invites with green leafage will set the tone for your rustic wedding, adding a natural and fresh feel to your wedding stationery. Menus, table numbers and place cards with the same motif will ensure that the same theme is carried across your wedding day too! Just add plenty of greenery and flowers on your tables and the look will be complete.
4. Bright colours
2017 is the year to be brave with your invitations; try some bright colours (this works especially well if you are getting married in the ummer) to make your guests really excited about your big day and all the fun you are going to have! Bright tropical designs, such as our Fab Fiesta collection (pictured above) is great for a fun-filled summer wedding, whether it’s in the UK or abroad.
5. Envelope liners
These are fantastic for adding a bit more personality to your stationery! Envelopes often get overlooked when planning wedding stationery orders, but these cute envelope liners can really add the “wow” factor to your invitations and save the dates. It’s a new product that we are so excited about and can be match to any collection designs to ensure the theme remains constant.
These pretty little plants are quickly becoming every bride’s favourite. Trendy brides add them to their bouquets and centrepieces. With such beautiful colours that span from all the shades of green and purple, it’s no surprise! These succulent wedding invitations will elegantly match the beauty of these plants.
