A day that you will remember for the rest of your life. The perfect setting, the beautiful romance and of course…. the amazing food and drink. The main aim of the wedding caterer is to turn your vision into the dream day that you and your guests will enjoy and remember for years to come.

Your big day is a personal experience where you want everything to be just perfect, so choosing a caterer who can fulfil those expectations is imperative.

We have turned to one of the regions premium caterers, The Taste Experience, for some advice.

What advice would you offer when choosing a caterer?

Your wedding day should be the day of your dreams not a day of compromise. When selecting a wedding caterer, make sure they offer you flexibility and a willingness to incorporate all of your ideas and tailored requests.

Top tips when choosing a caterer?
If the option is available, taste the menu and taste the wine. If you don’t know what something is or you have not been provided with enough information please ask questions. Don’t just settle for the standard options if they do not fit with your desires – arrange a bespoke menu.
Get to know your caterer. On the day, unless you have arranged an independent wedding planner, the catering manager will be the most significant coordinator for your event. A good caterer will relieve you of all the stress by suggesting menus, drinks, table layouts, colour schemes etc.

What about their suppliers?
We believe that all food should be responsibly sourced. The South East is a haven for great produce, hosting some of the highest quality farms. A responsible caterer will spend the time and effort searching for the best quality produce that will be reflected in every dish.

Why choose an external caterer?
Most external caterers are independent companies that have no contractual ties or obligations to other businesses so you get the benefits of flexibility, industry knowledge and undivided dedication to the food and drink provided on your wedding day.

What would our ideal meal be?
Starter: Sharing antipasto platter
Main: Slow roast pork belly
Dessert: Passion fruit cheesecake

What’s trending in 2015?
Sharing platters. They are a great way to get your guests talking.
Champagne cocktails. Add an extra sparkle to your arrival drinks with champagne cocktails. First impressions are so important, after all, you only get one.
